I know I said that I was not terribly into ASOIAF, but that was a few weeks ago, before I had read straight though to A Feast for Crows. Yeah I am hooked. I am really glad that I did not stumble upon these books two years ago. I think I would have gone nuts by now.

Anyway, that said, I have read the Tyrion chapter on GRRM's web site and the Theon Greyjoy chapter on Amazon.uk. Does anyone know where I might be able to find copies of the Jon Snow and Daenerys chapters that were supposed to be rotating on the site? Are they out there?

In other news Max's teeth are fine and my little sister hears that the water is going down in her house in the Dominican Republic. She has most likely lost all of her books again and we shall have to wait and see about her clothes and all of her other belongings.

Um. Would you think me a wimp if I said that I got about a third of the way in to Game of Thrones when a kid was killed... And I couldn't read any more?

No not at all. I just kept reading because I had nothing better to read at the moment. And now I have gotten caught up in the story. I think the first book was really hard to get into because of all of the POV switches as well as the evil killing. I guess at some point I wanted to read about those who were doing all the bad things getting their "just rewards."

:-) You're too kind.

And I guess I just couldn't get past the dropping-the-kid-out-the-window squick enough to care who it was who was doing it!

When I got to that point I gasped and said in my head "He can't be dead!" and actually, that kid lives and is one of the main characters of the series. But, through out there is a lot of death and violence and just because a character's POV is used does not protect them from the sword.

And I guess once you realize that all characters are fair game, you don't get as upset when more of them get knocked off.
