For Lunch Today...

1. Peanut Butter Sandwich on White Bread (no jelly(Amer.)/jam (Aus.) involved as I am diabetic)

2. Pink Lady Apple (I have decided that they are the best apples ever, cause I like them and I usually only like apples that have been baked in pies)

3. Glass of Milk

You know I don't care how old a person is, some lunches just never really lose thier charm.

That actually sounds like a pretty good lunch. Except that I would have put the peanut butter on the apple and just toasted the bread.

Is there not a good "sugar free" jam out there? Smuckers or something?

I actually don't think I've had a pink lady. I usually get the braeburn apples, although the fall is the best time for those. They are crisp (and I can NOT eat an apple that is not crisp) and they are the right combo of tart and sweet. (HEY! Just like me...lol)

I do occasionally go with the peanut butter/apple combo as well.

This morning I did not have time to find a container for said peanut butter, well except for the white bread.

I actually am not really big on jam/jelly with my peanut butter. Odd, I know. I would rather have peanut butter and honey or the all time Elvis favorite of peanut butter and bananas if I have anything with it.

This is how good the Pink Ladies are: I get the Braeburns ONLY if they don't have the Pink Ladies. They are similar to the Braeburn but just somehow better. Cause I am so with you, no mealy, mushy apples for me. And there has to be some tart in there. Actually I would probably rather have the Ganny Smith apples if I couldn't have these. But the GS's I HAVE to have peanut butter with LOL

After you have children this becomes much less novel. ;)

I've been really enjoying the Pink Lady apples over the past year or so.

I lurve Pink Lady apples. Are they new apples? I'd never seen them until a few years ago. That boggles my mind... new kinds of apples. Another kind that is really, really good is called Blue Cheland (Chedale?? I think it is Cheland..) They remind me of Pink Lady apples. I'd never seen them before I moved to Indonesia, but they're from the US. Now I have to find an apple to eat... ***hungry***
