Still Here!! Really I mean it...

Things going on in my world as of late:

She had a rough time after the surgery. I think the pain meds were making her sicker. Luckily, her boyfriend was able to stay with her for a couple of days and help her out with her kids during the days. My mom and dad and I were there the rest of the time, which is why I feel like I have done nothing for the past week and am still exhausted!

She finally got recovered in time to start her new job as a high school English teacher. Today was her first day with the students, but it was only for a couple of hours. She seems like she is really looking forward to it. I think that she is also really looking forward to the whole "regular paycheck" thing as well.

The satellite that receives our local channels has been out since the day before the opening ceremonies! This is killing me. I love the Olympics. I always watch them. AS much as I can get, but I have been reduced to sketchy downloads from the NBC web site. I hate this! And the repair guy took a week to get here and then... He TOTALLY screwed up.

We have two receiver dishes, one for our local channels and another for all the rest. Apparently, a tree in our yard has gotten too large and it was blocking the signal to our local channel dish where it has been. The repair man said it was not a big deal and he would just move the dish.

As the guy was working, my grandmother came to the bottom of the stairs and asked if the guy working on our satellite would interfere with HER receiver. (My grandparents have a separate system from a different satellite company for thier TV downstairs.) I asked the repair man and he answered with a rather mornonic "Yeah."

The moron had taken my grandparents receiver dish down from the roof of our two story house and thrown it to the ground to mount our other dish in its place. Without even asking if it was still in use. Luckily he was able to locate thier company's signal again and rehook the wires, but he had to use OUR dish to do it with because my grandparents' dish was crumpled on the ground!

Soooo, I STILL do NOT have access to Olympic broadcasts! The guy is coming back tomorrow with another dish to get our local channels back on. My only consolation is that the guy is going to have to pay for the extra dish out of his own pocket.

Max is getting so close to talking. He says phrases now that sound suspicously like "Want down." "Go inside" and "Where's Dida?" He calls my niece Lydia Dida. The funniest thing was when we were all woken up about a week ago to my brother's dog (who is boarding here because it is cheaper than a kennel, read that "free") barking at the top of her lungs. Max sat up in bed between Dave and I and looked at me and said "Doh! (pause) Woo!" Which I am pretty sure meant "The dog is saying 'woof'"

He has also gotten his ninth tooth. Oddly, it is the one behind an upper canine tooth which is NOT in.

Anywho... Here are some pictures!

What a mouthful of chompers!

I do remember those days of, "I'm pretty sure that what he/she just said meant..." It's so cute.

*sigh* Sometimes I want my babies back. Mostly not, though. They're still pretty cute since they aren't teens yet.

Love it! Just what every toddler needs to get through the day, their own light sabre! When he gets a bit bigger, he can have an indepth discussion with Colin about the merits of single ended as opposed to duel ended light sabres (yes, I have actually had this discussion with my lad)

He's just lovely Tory!
